Pimples are the breakouts that occur on the skin usually the face. They are a milder version of acne. The occurrence of pimples starts during the puberty. It is common to see mild red spots on the face. Although it can carry on through to the adulthood with increasing severity.
Skin care physicians usually recommend mild topical lotions as treatments to start with. Most of the pimples tend to heal with mild medications. However, sometimes they prescribe benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid solutions/lotions. It is always recommended to start with a very low concentration drug and increase the concentration if only the drug do not help treating the skin problem.
If irritation of the skin is present, the doctor should be notified so that he/she could prescribe a drug that is less allergic to ones skin. One of the battles a person has to fight when he has pimple is the urge to pick or scratch. This can only worsen the condition, increasing the severity of the inflammation and also resulting in the spreading of the infection across a larger area of the skin.
It is important to keep the face clear of dirt and oil secretions of the sebaceous glands. Periodic washing of the face with a mild soap or lotion to keep the skin clear of dirt could be very helpful to keep the pimples under check. A proper diet with regular physical exercises and a stress free living can go a long way in keeping the skin clean and clear of pimples and acne.
